RetroGameCon 5 Keynote Presentation Announcement!
Join us on day 1 (Saturday, November 18th) at 2:00PM in Panel Room A downstairs as RGC 5 special guests David Crane & Garry Kitchen present a retrospective of their experiences as programmers and entrepreneurs in the early video game industry!
David is well known as an iconic programmer and game designer for Atari, creating the 2nd best-selling game for the Atari 2600, Pitfall!, as well as a variety of other hit games for the console, as well as A Boy & His Blob for NES, and David Crane’s Amazing Tennis for the N64. David was also a co-founder of Activision, the world’s first independent video game developer, and today the largest publisher of video games in the U.S.
Garry, also a legendary game designer from the early days, is the creator of Garry Kitchen’s GameMaker for the Commodore 64, as well as developer of many popular Atari 2600 games such as the original arcade port of Donkey Kong. He also went on to create NES classics like Battletank & The Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants, as well as Super Battletank, and Super Battletank 2 for the SNES.
Together David and Garry were also the founders of Absolute Entertainment, a game publishing studio responsible for dozens of titles on a variety of classic gaming consoles. The pair were also the founders of Skyworks Technologies, a company that pioneered advergaming and created the classic early flash game website, Candystand.
