RetroGameCon 5 SPECIAL GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT!
David Crane is a legendary game designer and programmer who created several mega-hits for the Atari 2600, including Pitfall!, the second best-selling game on the Atari behind Pac-Man!
Pitfall sold over 4 million copies in the 1980s and was a breakthrough in the platformer genre which went on to inspire countless video games, and it’s legacy as one of the best early video games continues through today.
In 1979, David also co-founded Activision, the world’s first third-party video game developer, and today the largest publisher of video games in the country. He is also known as the co-founder of Absolute Entertainment, which produced several successful games in the 1990s including David Crane’s Amazing Tennis and A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia for the NES, plus several of the Simpsons games for the Game Boy and NES systems.
David will be joining us at RetroGameCon 5 to discuss those early days, and to meet with attendees and sign some cartridges!
It’s a huge honor to welcome David, a true pioneer of the video game industry, to Syracuse! We can’t wait to meet him!
